What a Blast

Our get together was incredible.  I won't try to summarize but I'll be posting some pictures and video in the near future.  Perhaps you can let everyone know about this blog so we can all share our thoughts and images more easily.  Just get stuff to me and I'll get it on the site.

And how about our good luck by having it when we did and not a week later!!!

Dear Cousins,

Well, it's almost here. Our first Waxman Family Cousins Reunion...This Sunday October 23rd at  1:30 pm..At Barbara Spiegel's place in the Boston Home  2049 Dorchester Ave Dorchester Mass 02124

Our  collective thanks go out to Barbara's son's Danny and Jeremy as well as Judy White for all their work in making all the plans and securing caterer, clean up people etc. etc. No easy task.

We will meet and greet over some snacks and soft drinks in a livingroom type facility and have lunch around 2:30 in a dining room to follow. The cost will be $28.00 per person, for any one over 10 years of age. Please come with checks made out to JEREMY SPIEGEL for everyone in your family for whom you are paying.

There will be, I am happy to say, around 40 of us. Looking forward to seeing ALL of you.

 I am, sincerely, Ernie Waxman

Note the Boston Home building is at corner of Dorchester and Gallivan Boulevard.  The entrance to the building is to the left of the "main " entrance (on weekends) and you ring  the bell, and have to be buzzed in. Say you are here for the "Spiegel party. You will enter on the ground level (G) and take the elevator up to the 1st floor and go left to the end of the hall to the Living room.

Just in case, Judy White's cell phone no. is 781-608-0827...also keep this number handy if you should need the "best" for real estate advice.......on the east coast !

Jeremy Spiegel's number is 781-820-4113

A Sad Day

"Hello Cousins,

Just received word that Mal Rivkin passed away early this morning. No funeral information at this time but I thought you'd like to know. I'll be in touch.

Old Time Pictures

Here a few pictures that I clipped from a video that Ernie made several years ago.  The images aren't too great but the video was really ancient.   If you click a picture it will show a larger version.

James Cagney and  Bob Hope at a Friar's Club Meeting back when actors were real performers.
Bob Hope was 52 and James Cagney was 56.

For the young folks, here is  something you probably
have never seen before and, unfortunately, you may  never see again.

For us older folks, this is the best of the best, and we had  it for many years!

This is a side of these two entertainers you hardly  ever saw but it shows you their enormous talent.

Bob Hope, the best of the  comedians, and Jimmy Cagney...mostly cast as the bad guy, gangster in the  movies.

How to blog

So here you are, a blogger!  Now what?  To create a blog entry you need to be logged in. On the right there is a link that says "Already a member?  Sign in.  Click and follow instructions.

Once signed in you'll see your email address at the top and "New post" right next to it.  If you click it you'll see a window just like this one: (click the image for a bigger view)
In fact this is the window of me making this post entry.  You'll be able to preview the page, save it future use, or publish it using one of the buttons at the bottom.

You can also import pictures as I've done in this little tutorial by clicking the little icon in the bar above this text that looks like a picture frame next to Link.

Experiment with the various formatting choices in the bar at the top.  If you let your cursor linger on an icon it will tell you what it does. For example:

Just follow the directions which are pretty self explanatory.

Once you publish the post you can edit or remove it should you change your mind. Hope this helps and have fun.

Oh, here's a neighbor's back yard.  I was on my way to my boat (which is fine) when I snapped this. No one knows who owns the boat!  Still, we love living here.
